Asking $7000.00 for rent. Four bedrooms, three full baths and only steps from our beautiful beaches.

Our newest listing has hit the market this week. 25 Nearwater lane, built in 1935, is a traditional colonial that captures everything you can imagine when you think about “going home”.  Big rooms and great “bones”, architectural details (THE STAIRCASE!) and the ever important kitchen where everyone ends up hanging out  – it has it all here. The neighborhood of Noroton Manor offers water access for your boat, and tennis courts. Walking distance to all of that as well as the Blue Ribbon Hindley School. Offered through Houlihan Lawrence. Rented as of 12/1/16

You are not going to find a gracious front hall like this. The staircase says it all.

THE STAIRCASE!  I think it speaks for itself…So welcoming and lovely.

wide open doors and and gracious rooms create a very inviting first floor.

Wide open door ways and and gracious rooms are ready for every occasion.

27 x 14 Living room is just fabulous.

The 27 x 14 Living room is just fabulous. Space for at least three seating areas. Mark D. Sikes…Can only imagine what magic he would work here!

this is a fabulous room

The dining room doubles as a second library for all the collectables and books you love. You can easily fit 12 in this dining room for dinner.

Top of the line appliances, lots of space and sunshine make this kitchen a highlight.

Top of the line appliances, lots of space and sunshine make this kitchen a highlight. And that refrigerator! Very Nice!

If you are able to keep a refrigerator looking like this on the inside, you win! Of course, you will have to bring out all your Juliska for that! Note what you see in the fridge!

Fabulous Great Room with a fireplace to match. Comfortable and right off the kitchen.

Wonderful back yard with a two car garage.

This is truly a special house. We LOVE this house; there really is “good juju” here. It feels right when you walk in and we promise you won’t want to leave. If you are in the market to rent a house that would make even Nancy Meyers proud, call us. Houlihan Lawrence is a phone call away to your new home away from home.

If you are working with an agent, this is not a solicitation.

Bringing to you our “Pick of the Week”

Thursday, September 5, 2013

AAC-logo[1]Real in Darien has many exciting things happening including a new venture with the Antique & Artisan Center in Stamford, Connecticut.  Even before we started, The Antique Center was a favorite destination. That whole area is a pocket  full of unique and fabulous antique stores of all shapes and sizes, cafe’s and a few hip shops.  You wouldn’t recognize the area now, with a Fairway Market, Design Within Reach, Le Pain Quotidien and Juliska leading the way.

The Antique Center is a blend of sophistication, whimsy and happily ever after.  We are going to start a “Pick of the Week” where we will highlight an item we both love.  We will also give you some ideas as to how they can work in your home.

The Antique Center has created a Fabric Room, where anyone can come and meet, and work on design . It is the most GORGEOUS room created by Mari Ann Maher. The fabrics are not something you are going to find in your neighborhood shop or big box design store.

Abigail has seen the light!

From John Rosselli Antiques.

This would have been our “first pick of the week” but it has sold already.  We couldn’t pass it by without acknowledging its beauty. Bunny Williams snatched it up; great minds think a like!  Lucky client.

Betsey Ruprecht’s Decorative Antiques.

So that brings us to our first “find”!  Look at this gorgoues grey amoire with chicken wire.  The orange just makes it that much more fabulous!  This item is a “no brainer” for your kitchen, family room, or even your master bath!  It was hard to leave without it.

Love the pineapple!

Love these. But they SOLD!

The Greek Key table!

A piece of Rose Cummings velvet would make this stool stand out

The showroom is full of vignettes and one of a kind finds.  It can be daunting, but if you look at individual pieces you are certain to find a piece that stands out for you.

The Lamps!

The Mirror!

Never overlook a good Rudolf!

Of course we would always be happy to help you pick out a piece. (To go in the fabulous house we will help you find!)

The Way Home

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Since most of Darien is out of town this week, I took advantage of my extra time and went down to Greenwich where the Historical Society hosted a fantastic luncheon and lecture featuring Jeffrey Bilhuber.  Jeffrey Bilhuber, the very celebrated decorator, is my rock star.  Some people like the Stones, I will stick with Jeffrey Bilhuber.  I can promise you, this “rock concert” did not disappoint.

Reflections on American Beauty.

He was there to talk about The Way Home, his latest book.  In a very theatrical presentation, Jeffrey Bilhuber talked about his experiences with clients, and how together they create homes that define who they are, and where they have come from.  Since I like to think that I am helping my customers find the house they will make their home, this afternoon was the perfect way to supplement the journey I have with my customers.

Abigail Moore with Jeffrey Bilhuber.

As it turns out, not only can he pull a room together with color and trim,  he can speak to a room full of people as if  he knows everyone personally.  He is an excellent speaker. He never uses the same word twice, never stalls on his thoughts, and is genuinely excited about his projects.   He had us all dreaming of our own decorating experiences and we all came away with a “new best friend”.  I am guessing he came away with a few new clients.

Highlights from The Way Home.

Answering questions at lunch.

Beautiful tables by Juliska and Bilhuber.
